Finally hit the sweet spot. Hops don't overpowering the malts and compliment them nicely. Excellent.

Has a big hit of sweet Sherry notes! Thankfully the hops are still assertive and balance the sweet notes while hiding the high alcohol content nicely. The hop profile is reminiscent of a dried out pine tree and still surprisingly aromatic.

A bit better with a couple of additional years in the cellar. But this is the first disappointing vintage after stellar 2011, 12, 13 and 14 vintages. All vintages thereafter went downhill.

It's taken me 5 years to work up to drinking this and I'm not disappointed. This is the full three courses for me: floral and fragrant to start; meaty and meaningful for main course & a sweet, slightly earthy finish. NEVER drink these beers without aging.
