Hygge is the Danish word for cozyness – this brew came about from experimentation guided by Alex Hely-Hutchinson of 26 Grains learnings whilst living in Copenhagen. Liquorice and Rye is a combination favoured/comfort food in Denmark that makes you feel ‘hygge’. This Danish word has no literal English translation, but evokes the feelings of warmth, cosiness and comfort.Four types of Rye Malt combine seamlessly with British Pale Barley Malt to provide a Dry Spicy, nutty and toasted malt character. The addition of the hops Pacific Gem, Ella and a new UK variety called Ernest provide a Fruity Hop character with notes of lychees, apricot and blackberry. Generous additions of liquorice root both in the boil and in fermenting vessel leaves a smooth and sweet liquorice finish that lingers Show Less
