A rich and thick yet dry imperial stout, deep reddish black with orange-gold froth, syrupy texture, full bitter chocolate character, slightly boozy, not sure about the apricot pits but has an orange zesty bitter edge.Earned the To The Port (Level 6) badge!
You can smell this one from across the table- bitter, dark and mildly pungent, with slightly stinky fermented stonefruit notes and astringent dark coffee roast. Doesn't drink like 11% but has the flavour intensity. 2+ years of age probably helped.Earned the For the Can (Level 24) badge! Earned the Heavy Weight (Level 100) badge! The taste is smooth and rich with a deep coffee and chocolate taste. The high abv isn't noticeable in the taste but it catches up with you quickly.Earned the Untappd at Home (Level 84) badge! Earned the Heavy Weight (Level 27) badge! Earned the Wake Up and Smell The Coffee! (Level 3) badge!
Last tasted 19 months ago. Chocolate & coffee flavours are still present, but there’s a smokiness that has evolved, significantly improving the overall taste experience. I should have kept a few more in the cellar.
