Small Town Brown Ale

When head brewer, John Martin, first moved to Des Moines he was struck by how many people he met who, like him, were originally from other small towns around the state. Open a map and you’ll immediately notice the sheer number of tiny hamlets that dot the countryside. Each one adds their own slight twist on what it means to be Iowan, each contributing a dash of individual flavor to the tapestry that is our great state. In much the same way, small additions of numerous specialty malts add layers of nuttiness, caramel and chocolate to Small Town Brown, providing a way to balance the bold, fruity and resinous character of the Simcoe, Chinook and Independence hops we added in generous measure.
