Wedding Alt

The Wedding Alt is patterned after the alt beer from Düsseldorf, Germany. Another familiar example of a type of alt beer is our Kölsch, which is a style from Cologne. The beers from Düsseldorf typically are darker than those from Cologne, due to the use of darker specialty malts.

The Wedding Alt has a subtle hop aroma from the addition of hops directly to the fermentor. It has a clean and light taste, with a dry finish. The crisp dryness is derived largely from the use of Munich-style malts in the grist. Caramel and Chocolate malts were also used, resulting in a beer which is very easy to drink, but which also has some maltiness in the finish.
