2021 Dark Charge Distillers Select - Castle & Key

After several tastings with the team at Castle & Key one thing was clear - the notes this beer showcased from aging Dark Charge in their Restoration Rye barrels boasted notes of chocolate, dark stone fruits such as fig, plum and blackberry with a smooth vanilla and roast. With that we decided to bring these flavors forward to tie in with the nice rye spice from the whiskey that once aged in the barrel and the roast from the stout by referemnting on figs, plums, and blackberries and aging on cocoa nibs. What you get is a pleasant tartness from the heavy handed fruit addition, a smooth chocolate note that all plays together with a beer that aged for more than 20 months on wood. Show Less
