Tigernator Doppelbock

Doppelbock was created by the monastic brewers for which the city of Munich was named. The native spelling, Munchen, means "home of the monks." Monks fasted for extended periods, and during these fasts no solid food was allowed. However, liquids were not restricted, including beer. The monks brewed "double bock" to be rich and strong, leading to the nickname "liquid bread." Tigertator Doppelback pours the lovely copper color of fall leaves. The aroma is a mix of wildflower honey and caramel. Munich malt flavor abounds providing a heavy richness. The brew lagered a full six weeks resulting in a clean finish that only proper conditioning can produce. Its worth the wait. Show Less
