Blencathra Columbus Pale

We use a very simple malt base for this beer to showcase the characteristics of the single variety of hop. Columbus is one of the classic high alpha dual purpose hops from the USA and it’s flavour profile is unmistakably American – resinous, herbal and earthy with gentle citrus notes and a clean, long lasting bitterness with a delicious aroma. We add Columbus to the copper at the start of the boil then again right at the end, three times during the run-off and then more to dry-hop during conditioning, each addition bringing a different quality of the hops to the glass.
