Big Black Voodoo Daddy (Aged In Bourbon And Rye Barrels - 43 months)

Back in 2013, we won a silver medal at GABF for our 2009 vintage of BBVD. We’ve always been fascinated with how our beers develop and mature with age, both in the package and in wood for varying lengths of time. With that in mind, in early 2017 we put a batch of BBVD in some bourbon and rye whiskey barrels with the intention of aging this batch for approximately the same amount of time that the 2009 batch aged before being sent to Denver. 43 months later, the resulting beer is truly a testament to the transformation of the underlying flavors and characteristics, as well as the contributions of extended oak aging and adjuncts
