A gift from an Australian cobber, Jyeshi M. Looks like runny honey, strongly phenolic nose. A smokey Dettol® assault that leaves the palate pleading for relief. Get through that & you get overcooked Oxford marmalade & bush honey. But I'm left with smoke.

Jyeshi Marihqna: Also I owed you a brick gapping tinnie tuckerbox for the one you sent me back in 2022. Cheers lads 🍻
Rudi Akkermans: Jyeshi M. You have excellent taste sir 🍻
Stuart MacDiarmid: Jyeshi M. You put a lot of thought into that box you sent me. I was very moved. I've been saving them for occasions I can sit and appreciate. This one was like Yeastie Boys Rex Attitude on steroids. A very divisive beer.
Joe F: Actually…A peated barleywine sounds delicious to me; I can chase it with a wee dram from a bottle of a Lagavulen 16 I keep by the bedside for those cold winter evenings here in the northern hemisphere.🥶🍻
Stuart MacDiarmid: Joe F. I love Islay whiskies, but this was too intense for me. It was, however, much more enjoyable than Rex Attitude by Yeastie Boys. I reckon, anyway ...

Weird scent of smoke and malt(like the smell of a cow shed). Taste is rich of smoke and malt, just like a cow shed smells. Great mouthfeel, but the taste is not what I prefer in a barleywine.
