Shipwreck Schwarzbier

Dark in color, light in body, with hints of chocolate and coffee. This black lager features roasted and toasted malt flavors, but delivered with a crisp finish thanks to the lager yeast used.

Pictured is the Grecian, which sank in the cold waters of Lake Huron in 1906, and to this day is still there, 105 feet down, perfectly preserved by the fresh water of the lake. Right off the shores of Alpena lie the remains of hundreds of shipwrecks, protected by NOAA's Thunder Bay National Marine Sanctuary. Many are in depths shallow enough to be visible for snorkelers, paddlers, or even aboard the Lady Michigan, NOAA's glass bottom boat. Show Less
