2021 Is Cancelled

When we released “2020 is Cancelled” last year, we hoped it would be a one off. But 2021 found new ways to be terrible. Real terrible. The lowlights: It started with a little light treason and the slow-motion collapse of democracy. And in a sign that nothing means anything anymore, someone paid $70 million in cryptocurrency for an NFT. Space billionaires went up in their dickships while redditors traded memestonks and rocketship emojis. There was backsliding in Myanmar, and (no fucks) Ever Given got stuck in the Suez Canal. We learned that UFOs and supply chains are real. We got a taste of normalcy for a few weeks and then slammed again by Delta. And again by Omicron. We lost some real ones: bell hooks, Sondheim, Joan Didion. We aren’t holding much hope for 2022, but we're glad to see the last year go.
