Another tried and tested old style is Kölsch, the pride of Cologne. It’s just that, we’re not really allowed to call it a Kölsch, unless our production brewery lies 50 kilometers from Cologne, at the absolute max. And since we cannot quite live up to that here at Amager, we call it a beer in the style of Kölsch, meaning: a clean, crisp and delicately balanced beer with a very subtle fruit and hop character. A simple beer, in the most positive meaning of that term. A beer for those who actually enjoy drinking beer to quench their thirst. And who better than the Germans to create exactly these kinda beers. We certainly cannot do it better than the original, but here’s our take on a Kölsch Style Ale.
