Strawberry Mutiny Aboard the Caine

World War II has been the source material for a plethora of amazing books and films. Notable amongst them is a 1954 film, starring Humphrey Bogart, called "The Caine Mutiny". Set in the Pacific theatre of World War II, the film takes place on board a fictitious U.S. Navy destroyer, the USS Caine, and the story details events leading up to the court-martial of the ship's Executive Officer for mutiny. The most famous scene in the movie finds Bogart's character, Lieutenant Commander Queeg, carrying out the "Strawberry Investigation" in an effort to find strawberries that have gone missing from the officers' mess hall. The investigation is elaborate, detailed, and extended, involving searches of the entire ship as well as searches of each crew member....all in an effort to find missing strawberries. When constructing our newest brew, we used "geometric logic" to ensure you wouldn't have to search far to find any strawberries, they're all in our newest strawberry-rhubarb sour!!! This sour ale is fermented using Philly Sour Yeast (a wild yeast that naturally produces lactic acid during fermentation) and the tart flavor it produces is balanced by additions of strawberry juice and rhubarb purée. This mutiny of flavor, riots against the establishment to produce a tart, but refreshing, slightly sweet, fruited ale...with a rebellious bite! Show Less
