A refreshing light golden brew, whose flavour is complex and mellow with a finely balanced floral aroma and smooth bitterness.

Rutland Osprey was first introduced as a collaboration between the Grainstore Brewery, the Wildlife Trust and Anglian Water at the same time as introduction of the Osprey Project.

Now in their nineteenth year, Rutland Water is home to the first Ospreys to breed in England for 150 years, after a translocation programme. They observe them from their arrival from Africa in Spring, through to their Autumn migration. Come and join Them at Rutland Water Nature Reserve to learn more about these magnificent birds!

A well balanced dark mild, whose chocolate and fruity flavours complement its roasted long smooth finish. Category winner at the G.B.B.F. and overall runner up in 2005.

A real celebration of the mysterious Black Panthers rumoured to roam the wilds of Rutland and often spotted.

For years, the smallest county in England has been rumoured to host at least one big cat, often assumed to be a black panther or leopard.

Paw prints have been found in golf course bunkers, suspect livestock killings reported in the south of the county, sightings near Belton-in-Rutland and even on Aylestone Meadows in Leicester but the evidence has never been convincingly corroborated.

There seems to be a bit of a hot-spot for the animal around Greetham Valley Golf Course however, with a reported sighting in 2010.

It has often been suggested that there is more than one cat in the Leicestershire and Rutland area and in 2013, two big cats were spotted in Leicestershire in the space of a day.

The Leicestershire and Rutland Panther Watch keeps tabs on any sightings and the organisation’s head believes there is a breeding big cat population in the East Midlands

Triple B started its life as a blend of Cooking and Ten Fifty. However as demand grew, the recipe was quickly formulated and Triple B has been our top selling ale ever since!

Named after the first recognised Head Brewer based in Oakham in Rutland, Triple B, or Bunny Brown’s Bitter is an exceptionally well balanced ‘Best Biiter’, typical of the traditional varieties we brew at the Grainstore.

First introduced into our range in 1997, Nip is a classic barley wine. The definition of the Nip suggests that it is drunk in small quantities and frequently!

Originally designed in the image of an Edwardian Gent (a reverse Toby Jug!) the artwork was reimagined in 2012 along with the rest of the range and now features the image of Tony Davis, the founding Director of the Grainstore Brewery.

Rutland Bitter is one of a pair of ales that made Rutland famous for its brews during the last century, a tradition now being carried forward by the Grainstore Brewery. Rutland Bitter is a distinctive beer predomintly bitter in taste but also possessing some sweetness and a fruity, hoppy aroma. The malted barley and traditional hop varieties used in the brewhouse are all sourced from the best farming areas in England and are prepared to a very strict specification. Rutland Bitter exhibits a full bodied flavour which belies its lower than average gravity, and with only 1.9 units of alcohol per pint, makes it a truely quaffable session ale! Read Less
