Bekatarō (Be-ka-ta-row) is a yōkai whose diet includes everything, even people. The Bekatarō is short and pudgy with a head of matted, greasy hair. Its signature move is to pull down its lower eyelids with its fingers and stick its tongue out in a mocking gesture. Before this yōkai was born, he used to be a boy named Tarō with an insatiable appetite. He ate so much, his parents couldn’t afford to feed him anymore, so they put him out to live on the streets. Tarō survived by wandering the streets and begging strangers for food, but no matter how much food he was given, it was never enough to satisfy him. His hunger was so great that be began to wonder what humans tasted like. Eventually, he gave in to his curiosity. He began to catch and eat people, and as a result transformed into a yōkai.

Bekatarō is an English Style Porter that we transformed with Tarō and Tahitian Vanilla. Medium to medium full body with a balanced slightly dry and sweet finish that will keep you coming back for more… just like the Bekatarō. Read Less
