Our company name is Ardent Spirits, Inc. This name comes from the original property deeds establishing the formation of Collinsville in 1837. Those first property deeds included a clause requiring any land owner who produced or sold “ardent spirits” to forfeit their land. “Ardent Spirits” will be the brand of our craft spirits (whiskey, gin, rum and a few surprises). We needed to choose a different brand name for our beers. Since we always intended to celebrate the history of our location as the former home of the Collinsville Herald for 80+ years, Old Herald Brewing Co. ™ seemed perfect!
