The road trip continues, and Dan Mumford is taking us to Edinburgh for our latest Patrons Project release.

Mumford’s beers have all taken inspiration from their namesake locations, not only for the incredible artwork on the label but in the liquid itself as well.

There are so many iconic flavours in Scotland that we could have worked into the beer but ultimately decided to pay homage to one of the country’s more underrated spirits, Gin. Scotland’s relationship to its salty coastline runs deep, and it’s Juniper strewn moors grow wide and vast. We’ve paired the saline with the savoury in a classically ‘Monk’ hazy IPA.

A trip to Scotland is nothing without meeting up with some local friends, and we’ve recruited the fantastic Moonwake Beer Co based on the Leith. They are a modern Scottish brewery, established in 2021, brewing balanced beers for all to enjoy. And of course we had to call in at the Hanging Bat and ask the Hanging Bat Brew team to join in the fun. Read Less

Welcome to Hop City! With a small army of contributing collaborators and sponsors, the neighbourhood’s on fine form. Back for another year is our annual ode to the mighty hop and all that it can do, in honour of the best weekend of the year.

For this year’s Hop City release we’ve put all our energy into just one product. Giving it the attention and care it deserves. The result is an uber juicy, unbelievably drinkable DDH IPA, with orange, sweet peach, mango, sharp passionfruit and bright lime filling all your senses. On a rich, hazy base made with oats and wheat, it’s got a long lingering texture to keep the flavours flowing. Read Less

A fruit-filled ode to an impending spring, Happy Collider is our latest Patrons Project release with Tula Lotay.

This Fruited Smoothie IPA has a delicious balance of the juicy sweetness of strawberry and the tangy bite of blueberry, in a deep red-purple hue. Our oat-heavy base has been topped off with milk sugar to guarantee that milkshake mouthfeel. Hopped with US Mosaic and French Barbe Rouge, both of these bring their own berry notes to the beer, finished with a touch of Mosaic for just a hint of the tropical.

Teaming up with Dutch beer engineers, Moersleutel, we wanted to make something that both paid homage to the bounty of winter while looking forward to the fruits of summer. Read Less

Our second Patron’s Project release with big-wall behemoths SNIK is Solitude, a DDH DIPA made to celebrate six days, countless hand cut stencils, and one stunning mural that now belongs to the people of Stockport.

Solitude showcases the brilliantly named hop Peacharine, a new variety from Freestyle Hop’s breeding program. Living up to its name with heaps of nectarine and ripe peach, it felt perfect for a smooth oat-laden DDH DIPA.

Despite being named Solitude, we’ve collaborated with Folkingebrew on this beer. Read Less

Led by some of our incredible brewers, Sophie, Vismaya and Chloe, this year’s release for International Women’s Day is a delicious malt-forward and lightly herbal Irish Red Ale.

The theme of this year’s IWD is ‘Give to Gain’, a campaign to encourage a mindset of generosity and collaboration. We wanted that to be part of the beers journey this year. After plenty of wide-ranging conversations, and a couple of tastings, our team settled on a more unusual style after being voted for in-house by staff of various genders from across the business. The recipe creation, brew, artwork and photography were all led and produced by women. Read Less

Making a grand return to his Patron’s Project for the first time since 2022, we have Rob C Art coming back with a newly imagined theme and look for this freshest release.

This is an Oat Cream DIPA at 8%. Everything you know and love about our hefty New England hazies but heavily layered with loads of oat and lactose for an uber rich texture.

The fuller mouthfeel helps carry a load of bright tropical notes that are brought in by some newer US hop varieties. Krush has big tropical fruit punch vibes, bursting with orange, guava and mango. While Dolcita offers a load of sweet, candied fruit notes, pineapple, peaches and even a touch of Daiquiri. Read Less

Another month exploring the hops of New Zealand, and this latest release from the Old Flax Store crew sees Charlie selecting Motueka and doing what he can to amp things up, with a fully developed hopping program.

We’re pairing the Kettle charge of Motueka with some Floe Citrulicious for a hefty aroma boost. After good success with January’s brew, we are again using a first day dry hop, this time with Mega Motueka. This helps us make the most of the kettle charge and as you’d guess Mega Motueka is a levelled-up version of the normal variety. We’re also using a touch of Waimea and more Mega Motueka at the end of fermentation to really round things off with notes of Orange Zest and Pine. Read Less

Our second release with Manchester illustrator David Bailey is here, and it’s our take on an underrated style from the early days of American craft beer, which is itself an American take on a British icon of pub drinking.

A classic Brown Ale malt base is filled out with a forest full of Chinook to bring a load of pine resin, white pepper and citrus pith to an otherwise buttery biscuit base.

This also marks the first time for a very long time that one of our Patrons Project releases is available on cask! It only felt right for a series dedicated to the hallowed institution that is the pub. Read Less
