Another seasonal from my one year brewing back in 2001. It was the St Patrick seasonal and was fine. Old Man Don Thompson was the first craft brewer in Texas at Rheinesgebot in Dallas in the 1980s. By the time I met him, he was over it. RIP NXNW.
Four or five beers were brewed year round (distant memory, beers not worth remembering overall), with an occasional seasonal. The brewers who replaced Old Man Don made inventive beers from what I heard. They had passion. Don stopped carrying at some point
My favorite beer brewed at NXNW back in 2001. Went out of business 2 weeks ago. The brewmaster, my boss, Old Man Don Thompson was a straight up hater. Called all hefes and all Belgian beers lazy and DIRTY. He made very plain beers. Was a trailblazer once.
Checking in a few in a row. NXNW, the only time I was a professional brewer, assistant aka monkey helper, back in 2001. Honestly hated their original brews. Don Thompson, the brewmaster, was an antisocial old man stuck in 1980s brewing. NXNW, now closed.
