The Mad Hatter Brewing Company is dedicated to creating high quality (and usually high ABV), unusual bottled beers in small batches. We’re a pretty tiny brewery, made up of the founders: Gaz Matthews and Sue Starling, and our new member of staff, Marc.
We officially started trading in February 2013, and things went so well that we’ve outgrown our original (tiny 1.5bbl) brewery in Toxteth. We are now based on the corner of Jamaica and Watkinson St in Liverpool’s exciting Baltic Triangle. Our brewkit is being upgraded to 2.5bbl and we’ve recently taken delivery of seven 720 litre conical fermentors, meaning we’ll be brewing small batches every day.
In making our beers, we take the best things about the US brewing revolution and mix them with the British Real Ale tradition and continental beer styles and techniques. To this heady mix we add the best ingredients sourced from all over the world: English floor malted grain, the best hop varieties, and, where appropriate, spices, herbs and fruit. We then brew the beer with specially selected live yeast cultures, which give an added layer of complexity. Show Less
