Who are we?
In July 2017, four of us formed the Loch Leven Brewery Company based in Kinross, Perthshire.
From the ruins of a derelict building, situated in the heart of Kinross, we created a 1500 Hl brewhouse and Tap Room, backed up with contract
partners for additional brewing and packaging, to create four distinctive premium quality brands – the Great Scots.
Heroes local to Loch Leven, emphasising the personal qualities that made them great before and which make them completely relevant for today.
Mary Queen of Scots – a woman in a mans world who fought against powerful men all her life.
Andrew Carnegie – the homeless boy from Dunfermline who became the worlds richest man.
Robert the Bruce – from outlaw to King in ten short years.
Gabriel de Montgomery – endured enormous personal tragedy through no fault of his own.
Our strategy was to build our brands locally in the On trade and speciality Off Trade, offering classic beer styles that would never go out of fashion,
targeting both proud Scots and interested Tourists.
We now have not just strong powerful brands, hundreds of On Trade Customers, a thriving Tap room, strong on-line presence partnered with Shazam and an
exciting events offering based on our unique mobile cask bar – the BeerBox, converted from an old horsebox.
