The Swedish name for Ptarmigan is Ripa, and this is a Rye-IPA. That is, rIPA. The Ptarmigan that lives above the tree line, in Fjällen, is called Fjällripa (Lagopus muta). Of the 2 Ptarmigans living in Sweden, the Fjällripa is the smaller one. The larger Ptarmigan that lives below the tree line, is called Dalripa (Lagopus lagopus).

The taste notes include dry-hopped tropical and citrusy goodness from Mosaic, Citra, and Eldorado. Add to this the subtle malt tones and the peppery aftertaste that comes from the rye. We add oat for its velvety mouthfeel. Read Less

“The Ore fields” and “The Gold of the North” are two terms that our region of the world has a close relationship with. The term ore fields is one of the names used for our region, simply because of the iron ore-rich ground. The Gold of the North more poetically describes the ripe cloudberries that seem to set the arctic moors aflame with their vibrant orange color in the summertime.
This is a stout as dark as the iron ore below us, with an intense cloudberry taste that nicely compliments the malt base of the beer.
Share a bottle in good company, maybe as a dessert on its own or perhaps paired with coffee-flavored ice cream. We like this liquid black gold best when it is served at around 14-16 degrees celsius. Enjoy.

Viscous with a creamy, brown head. A symphony of burned, roasted malts, chocolate, coffee, molasses, toffee, and licorice flavors, completed with subtle hop aromas. Altogether, this will age with dignity. It is a beer to drink on a cold winter night, or whenever you would like to enjoy a tasty stout.
