"Drink less, taste more"
Tipsy was Awarded Best Historical Beer on The European Beer Challenge 2020! In 2021 we won gold on the Asian Beer Challenge...and in 2021 we are the best Historical beer on the World Beer Awards!!!
The story behind Tipsy starts with two brothers; Jan and Jozef Hermans. Their father used to be a baker and lived a very busy life. Jan helped his father in the bakery and was responsible for the distribution of the loaves.
A friend of Jan - which would later become the brewer of the Maes beer - proposed to not only distribute bread during their delivery round, but to also visit Maes' customers and deliver their ordered beers.
Jan accepted this proposal and from that moment on, the ambition to brew his own beer began to grow. His brother Jozef didn't need much persuasion to participate in this project.
Together, the brothers established a brewery named Brasserie Hermans Frères. The brewery got the nickname 'St. Anna' - a reference to the St. Annendael monastery located at the other side of the road.
Jozef was responsible for the brewing of their beer, while Jan took care of the distribution. He went around cafes to provide their customers with beer.
Almost a century later, Joey and Marc Hermans decide to revive the Tipsy beer. They work in collaboration with guest brewery BeerSelect, which ensures that the beer is brewed with quality. Show Less
