We endeavored to find out what a ‘whirl champions’ beer should really taste like. So we collaborated with no less than 7 different breweries from all over the big wide ‘whirl’ to get their opinion. The result is one bombshell of an IPA with everyone's favorite hops: Strata, Equanot and Citra. Thanks again to all the talented minds we had the pleasure to be around that day. Ethel. A tribute to INSA’s partner. They fell in love whilst hopping train lines, travelled the world painting graffiti together, and now have three children.

We brewed the second beer in INSA’s 15th anniversary Patrons Project with our friends from Stigbergets Bryggeri and Garage Beer Co whilst they were over for Hop City. This tropical milkshake IPA contains 250g of pureed papaya, mango and passion fruit per litre, backed up with a heavy dry hop of El Dorado, Cashmere, Simcoe and Mosaic.

It didn’t take us long to decide on brewing something tropical and smashable, however deciding which fruits took a bit longer! Finally we settled on mango, passion fruit and a new one for us, papaya, a soft flesh fruit not dissimilar to mango but contributing a sharper, spicier flavour to the mix.

The base beer is made up solely of barley malt and a large percentage of oats to which we added milk sugar and some dank whirlpool hops in the shape of Columbus before fermenting with our house IPA strain. After fermenting out the residual sugar in the fruit, we dry hopped with El Dorado, Cashmere, Simcoe and Mosaic Cryo to compliment the fruit as well as additional spice, pine and citrus flavour to the mix. The Garage Beer Co. / Stone Cosmic Island New England IPA is a fruity and juicy hop bomb reminiscent of summer, sun and beautiful Barcelona beaches. The hop bill features Simcoe, Motueka and Callista aroma hops alongside a specifically selected British yeast strain create an out-of-this-world blend of dank hop aromas and tropical flavors with notes of peach and citrus. Oat flakes provide a very soft and pillowy body and mouthfeel that supports the juicy, hoppy character of this New England IPA.

Our first Triple IPA has arrived and it’s an absolute belter. This summer we got together virtually to collaborate on a massive IPA that was initially destined for release around July to mark the date that Fidelity 2020 should have been working its magic. Together with our friends at Barrier Brewing Co, Garage Beer and Naparbier, we set out to brew the same base beer and work our own hop selection on top to produce a collect-em-all extravaganza. We’ve been extremely late to the party as we’ve pushed forward release of our own contribution to now close out the year on our biggest collab beer yet, but it’s a pretty amazing way to finish out year 1 at our facility in Ballyfermot. IT WAS DEVASTATING TO HAVE TO CANCEL HOP CITY 2020 (WE REMAIN HOPEFUL OF BEING ABLE TO BRING IT BACK IN SOME CAPACITY LATER IN THE YEAR). HOWEVER, OUR ANNUAL COLLABORATIONS WITH OUR FRIENDS FROM ACROSS EUROPE AND THE US LIVE ON.

We’d already started discussing multiple recipes and those involved were unanimously in favour of seeing these through to fruition, even if they couldn’t attend themselves.

We teamed up with some of the most exciting breweries in Europe right now in the shape of Garage (Spain), Brouwerij Frontaal (Netherlands) and Pastore (UK) to work on this refreshing spring sour IPA. We led with 100g/l of the stone fruits peach and apricot, and backed these up with mango, cinnamon and vanilla pods as well as maltodextrin for body and mouthfeel. We blended this fruited kettle sour with an IPA packed with oats and wheat and dry-hopped with Azacca to complement the stone fruit character and bring notes of melon and passion fruit. Read Less

This is it, our first home collab with our friends at Garage Beer Co. and it's been a long time in the making. All who know both our breweries know full well we have a deep kinship. We're a married couple. And nothing was going to stop us getting together to brew a beer this year now we've made a home. Not even the lockdown.

So it was with the wonders of technology that we've put in our headphones, done our zoomies and got to work on brewing the big hop belter we've been planning ages - Plausible Deniability, our leg of the Stir Crazy Solidarity series - and we did the DIPA.

The crew at Garage were pretty excited at the idea of pushing our mash filter to the absolute max to fit in as much soupy chew into this one as we possibly could, and it worked. This one's over 50% Flaked Oats & Wheat with a light sprinkling of barley for the normies. We packed our whirlpool to the max with Columbus & Simcoe, fermented it on London Ale III then double dry hopped this monster with Lemondrop, Sultana and our mutual friend BRU-1, an absolute favourite for both our brewhouses.

There's a lot going on here. It's big and chewy, feathery and creamy and is absolutely oozing lupulin glands from start to finish that'll leave you wondering what the hell you were doing with your life before you drank this.

This is a stone cold belter. Read Less

Made in collaboration with our friends from Barcelona Garage Beer.

Together, we crafted this rich and robust Double IPA using barley malt, flaked oats, and wheat as the base, then dry-hopped it with Citra, Nectaron, and Galaxy Spectrum.

This marks Basqueland’s first use of NZ Hops Nectaron. The result is a lush, full amalgamation of tropical flavors: ripe pineapple, passion fruit, and peach, complemented by a subtle herbal note.

The best of the best just got better. Read Less
