Fruity, floral, and delicately bitter, Hole Hearted was one of the first beers in the UK to use Cascade hops - now a ‘household name’ in brewing.

India Pale Ale is a style that's thankfully seen a massive resurgence and evolution, and this example of it follows loosely the traditional 150+ year old style. Full of Chinook and Brewers Gold, it has an initial dry bitterness, followed by a citrus explosion of complex grapefruit and marmalade flavours. Lager has a bad reputation amongst the Ale and Craft crowds, understandably so, here in the UK our bars are littered with keg fonts all displaying badly made, macro brewery, chemical, crap. Forget the mass-market, and focus on Double Tide - it is a properly lagered beer, spending 10 weeks in tank. This additional time, at close to zero degrees, allows certain compounds to drop out the beer meaning a cleaner and smoother flavour.
Our house strain of yeast is an Ale-Lager hybrid, allowing us to produce Double Tide and keep in some of the ester, fruity flavours but the clean Lager notes. Double Tide has sweet notes complimented by Czech spicy, hoppy flavours.
The name Double Tide comes from our unique location on the edge of the Solent, a famous stretch of water for having the unusual phenomenon of Double High Water.

Our traditional bitter is brewed to a recipe that has been handed down from brewery to brewery locally for decades. Sweet and malty, with a delicate hop finish, and a robust bitter backbone. Because this is a beer for Portsmouth, we asked local photographer Johnny Black if he had a photo that represented Portsmouth, as well as tying in to the original badge designs. All he asked for was us to make a donation to Portsmouth Hospital Charity. We decided instead of a one off donation, we wanted to continuously give something back for all their hard work, so 5p per pint sold will go to help their great work. Thank you to our incredible NHS. Our sessionable New England style IPA is the final addition to our core range - full of tropical juice notes, with a soft and pillowy mouthfeel. Dry hopped with Idaho7, Mosaic, and Comet, on a base packed with Peko, Amarillo, and Mandarina Bavaria, it's got the hopping rate and malt bill of a beer above it's ABV, but we've put it on it's own lockdown, so it's a beer you can enjoy pint after pint of. We’ve hit this hard with a double dry hop of El Dorado, Azacca, and Amarillo and nailed all available abbreviations with the style.

Bursting with candied tropical fruits of pineapple, mango, and orange, combined with a soft and pillowy mouthfeel from our in-house oat cream.

This is our first foray into both oat cream and triple IPAs and a nod to Other Half Brewing in New York, one of our favourite breweries across the pond and the inspiration for this style. Read Less

A 4.0% copper bitter is as quintessentially British as apologising unnecessarily. This is a mid-brown session ale with complex malt sweetness, Toffee, fruity, caramel notes. The low-strength bitter is the cornerstone of enjoying a locally brewed beer up and down the land, love it or loathe it, this style sings off the traditional cask hymn sheet leaving a lingering bitterness and a long British hoppy finish.
Unlike its mass-produced bitter brethren, this a flavourful beer made with passion, love and the finest of British Barley and Hops. Seen in pubs in and around Hampshire in Cask and bottle - fined with Vegan friendly finings and a great nod to traditional English beer.

Whilst we appreciate there are some serious issues surrounding Brewdog at the top that need to be handled, we also have many friends who work in the bars, and they shouldn't suffer for it - they deserve support. We hope this beer can push the need to address the issues more than we have seen, that the response has not been enough, and to also highlight how the staff are the ones suffering from it.
To help drive this, 5% of the proceeds of this brew will go to The Drinks Trust, ensuring care and support to the people who form the drinks industry workforce, both past and present. Read Less

Despite the dark colours of this beer, we’re sticking with the oxymoron style being a ‘Black American Pale Ale’. The American element being the Cascade hops, the American Pale element being the fact the malt profile of this beer being extremely similar to its older sister beer, Hole Hearted. The tiny addition of dark malt gives this beer its colour and a nice roasted flavour after the tropical hoppy initial hit.
The perception amongst many drinkers is that dark ales are heavy and overly complex, this isn’t the case with Black Hearted - it drinks like a Pale Ale and is great for a session. This was one of the first seasonal beers produced by us, and after it won awards at our CAMRA branch beer festival, then was well received at the Great British Beer Festival we gave it a spot in our core range. Seen in pubs in and around Hampshire in Cask, Keg and Bottle - fined with Vegan friendly finings and must be ordered in your best pirate voice, trust me, it sounds good.

You certainly can't pay for 240kg of Pineapple, 120kg of Passion Fruit, and 80g of Peach with it. Criminal.

They wouldn't even let us pay for a shit tonne of Barti rum soaked raisins, and Vanilla with it.

Yes. Very much yes. 240 litres of puréed apple to be precise. Pastry sour - so sweet balance with a not overpowering sourness. It's like a warming winter apple pie filling - sweet and tart apple, with just enough cinnamon to give it another dimension.. and then that vanilla custard flowing over the top.

And named after the ultimate Christmas film. (YES IT IS)
