Earned the Better Together (Level 56) badge!Chris B: I’m actually a bit meh on the style, I either enjoy a hoppy IPA or a proper stout or porter these tend to be an odd hybrid that doesn’t do either style to my tastes. But this one was good.

Reading Shōgun, can’t believe I missed this book in my youth, it’s stellar. An IPA that confounds the tastebuds, oak & vanilla and hop bitterness. And for music: Blizzard of Ozz (1980)
Lone Pine: Many ppl forget he was a scholar, writing stories was just a side effect (vs his great friend CS Lewis) - what a brilliant one.
Chris B: Also a WW1 vet, such life experiences contribute to perspective. And at 53 I’ll def take being called “young folk”!! Read LOTR in 8th grade, along with Dragonlance 🙄
Wayne D: At my age, most everyone appears young! Tolkien was also a Roman Catholic, and the mythology mirrors Catholic tradition. Baring my soul to you my friends, the Prayer to Galadriel was extremely profound to me in my youth.
Lone Pine: Over 50, welcome to the club. 😂
Wayne D: Congratulations...you are now qualified for AARP! 🤪
Chris B: Hahaha! I get AARP mailings now.
