With a backbone of a wonderful biscuity aroma from a European Pilsner malt, which accent the subtle grassy undertones, this beer highlights elements of spice and fruit amid refined citrus notes of tangerine from a subtle dry-hop. For our third collaboration with local Scarborough homebrewer David Chang-Sang, we decided to revisit our use of Red X malts and brew a traditional German Red Lager (or Rotbier) with Hallertau and Magnum hops. Lagered for 12 weeks and naturally carbonated, our rendition imparts gentle malt derived flavours of bread crust, honey, oak and a hint of caramel, all while remaining highly refreshing and easy to drink.
