During the mid 1800's brewers used the available barley which created a slightly harsh beer. By also adding the available native corn this provided a sweetness that could lessen the harshness of these beer and often created a clearer beer as well. This style carried through the 1800 up to prohibition when many of these historic style beers were forgotten.
While the Pre-Prohibition beer usually had higher alcohol levels and higher bitterness, our "amaizing" version has an ABV of 4.5% and an IBU of 19. Read Less
