Good pilsner is one way to tell the quality of any brewery. It’s a holy grail in the brewing industry, because there’s nothing to hide behind when you brew this beer. Crispy, crackery, and bready malt are the backdrop for pleasant floral, lemony, and herbaceous hops with a light, pleasant bitterness. Brewed with tedious attention to detail, this unfiltered pilsner is a labor of love that we’re happy to share.

Hop-focused German-style Pilsner brewed with 100% German malt and hops. We open fermented this beer, which was then naturally carbonated for a smooth, soft mouthfeel. Pilsner is often mistaken as a light, malty beer in America—ours sticks to the historical tradition of a moderately bitter lager with floral and crackery notes that is, most importantly, outrageously drinkable. Pneuma has a huge punch of orange peel, lemon zest, and pine resin up front backed up by very light caramel sweetness and a present but not overpowering roasted character. The medium-light body leads to lingering pleasant bitterness and hop flavor. Read Less

A robust take on the Czech Dark Lager style just in time for the colder months. Named after the famous Czech composer Leoš Janáček, this beer has flavors of light roast, creamy coffee, cola, rich maltiness, and peppery hops, then finishes clean.

Czech Dark Lagers are one of the styles of beer with the most variety in their flavor profiles. Some present quite sweet with notes of bread, nuts, and sweet dried fruit, whereas others carry more prominent roast and bitterness. Janáček sits squarely in the middle of the style, with a smooth roastiness allowing some of the lighter cola, bready malt, and raisin aromas to come through, while also featuring our hand-selected Saaz hops and Raven malt from the Czech Republic. Robust enough to be worthy of a cold Vermont night, but light enough to drink in volume, Janáček is a beer that will appeal to lager and stout drinkers alike. Read Less
