Picked up from the brewery by me old mate Maurice. Full of sweet caramel character.

For a beer of its age that has been properly stored, this is a wonderful beer, most enjoyable. Purchased from the Brewery many years ago.

Another one from the "Back of the Cupboard Chronics". 5+ years old. 😅 Not aged as well, as you'd probably guess. More of a barley wine now. Very sweet, with a caramel start, with Star Anise finish. Quite odd, but still drinkable.

Last bottle of this, out of the vault. Sadly a once beautiful beer has faded very badly since its pomp around 2014/15. Its barleywine-ish now but the flavours are a mess. An extra point for former glory

Exceptionally well done, not a big anise fan and this is perfectly balanced with the Belgian yeast profile. Cheers Dave!

Boozy. It's aged well. Raisins and getting a bit of aniseed from star anise. Very sweet and syrupy
